A basketball jersey from the school days of former U.S. President barack obama is on sale in the U.S. For 120.000 dollars (around 108.000 euros) was auctioned off.

The new owner, a collector of historical sports memorabilia, wished to remain anonymous, the auction house heritage auctions in dallas told the german press agency. 27 bids were received at the auction on sunday night.

The female blue jersey bears the number 23 from the 1978/79 season of the basketball team of punahou high school in hawaii. The jersey was used by the then 18-year-old obama during numerous games, according to the description. The auction house had previously estimated the treasure's price at $100,000.000 dollars.

Obama's successor on the team wore the jersey for some time until it was due to be replaced. The basketball player picked up the sportswear and put it up for auction. Even during his time in the weben haus between 2009 and 2017, obama was known for throwing a few baskets with colleagues or famous visitors from time to time.
