National trade academy

NTA offers New Zealand and international students training and education leading to New Zealand qualifications in a range of agricultural industries including: Agriculture, Equine, Horticulture, Agricultural Technology and Animal Care.

We offer international students English courses and classes that incorporate unique New Zealand experiences, such as English and horseback riding, English and rugby, and English and agriculture.

Our training center offers special facilities to ensure that you receive high quality and professional training. Located just ten minutes from Christchurch, giving our students access to practical training in the countryside with the option of living in a metropolitan area. The National Trade Academy covers 70 hectares on McLeans Island. All students are involved in the daily management and development of the farm and riding school. On site there are classrooms, a forestry block, horticultural facilities, a greenhouse, a shade house, tool sheds, irrigated pastures, a student lounge, a cafe, farm animals, sand riding arenas, stables and yards. Everything you would expect from a first class agricultural training facility conveniently located in one place.
